Guide rings are divided into piston and rod guide elements. They guide the piston centrically in the cylinder tube or the rod in the cylinder head. Guide rings prevent direct contact between the metal components of the cylinder and absorb the transverse forces that occur during operation. They are mainly manufactured in straight or slanted slotted form. The former ensures that the rings are easier to install. In the latter, the slanted slot serves to prevent drag pressure. Guide strips made of various high-tech materials are available under the DMH brand. They all contribute significantly to extending the reliable operation of the cylinder.
