NBR is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and 1,3-butadiene. It is a synthetic rubber. Vulcanized rubber has high resistance to mineral oils, fats, and hydrocarbons. It is not suitable for applications in daylight (ozone radiation). The material can be selected in a hardness of 73–90 Shore A for various areas of application.
HNBR stands for hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber. This material is characterized by high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, ozone and weather resistance, and is resistant to water and water vapor. A special feature of this material is its comparatively low gas permeability.
